The ICT department at Naggalama Islamic Institute has a full time teacher who teaches a range of the different courses, and a professional technician. The facility include fully equipped ICT rooms each with interactive boards, printers and scanners. These make up just 50 computers across the site. Studentds have access to the ICT rooms from 8am - 5pm (Mon-Thu) and until 11am on Fridays before prayers. The ICT rooms are rarely unused during lesson times, demonstrating the popularity and natural acceptance of ICT across the curriculum.
The Managed Learning Environment (MLE) is also used across the curriculum and students are able to retrieve subject resources both at home and at school. The ICT curriculum at Naggalama Islamic Institute aims to cover as many areas of ICT as possible. These include word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and media creation. Our motto is "If we're not doing it, we soon will be!". Industry standard software is used where appropriate. National Curriculum levels for ICT are assessed every end of the term by sitting an exam aimed to stretch the students' understanding and skills.
